Ceramic toothpaste pot lid

Description

White earthenware cylindrical pot lid for Commans of Bath areca nut toothpaste. This lid is from a pot of toothpaste made from Areca nuts, which are native to India. Areca nuts are used in Ayurvedic medicines and were also used in English toothpastes and powders. The nuts were used for their ability to clean teeth, freshen breath, strengthen gums and prevent tooth decay.
