Viking Silver Ingot

Description

A cast silver ingot hammered into a rectangular bar of slightly rounded rectangular section with faceted edges; length, 30.4 mm. One face shows file marks and a deep cut in one edge and one long side has a testing nick made with the point of a knife or chisel, which is typical of ingots of the Viking period.
