Black and white photograph of a nurse (the Matron) and five servicemen in their uniforms. The Matron and two of the soldiers are crouched down next to another soldier laying on a stretcher, blanket and pillow on the ground. They appear to be demonstrating how to tend to a wounded or sick soldier. Behind them is another serviceman stood next to a wooden table with a white tablecloth and what appears to be medical equipment. Behind him there is a serviceman sat on a wooden bench with his chin resting on his hand. The photograph appears to have been taken on the edge of the Sunken Garden at Normanby Park, next to the outer wall of the 1906 ballroom extension of the Hall. The photograph is mounted on faded black paper, which appears to have been torn out of a photograph album. At the bottom of the image, written in ink is, 'Normanby Park 1915'.
