Long-sleeved, A-line, knee-length dress in a purple cotton fabric. The dress has an all-over pattern of small flowers on a bright purple background in colours of white, orange, green and turquoise. The dress has a round neck which is finished with both a circular facing and a binding. It has a long, purple, metal zip and a press stud to fasten at the top, the stitching of which on the LH side is coming loose. Down the front of the dress, two layers of white nylon lace are sewn by hand, curving into a semi-circle at the bottom. The same lace also trims the sleeves at the wrist, and extends below the sleeve fabric. The lace consists of a broad, pleated layer in a flowery pattern with a scalloped edge, and a narrower layer of folded, pleated nylon fabric which at its base has been caught at intervals in a chain stitch effect. The sleeves are plain and loose with a hand-stitched hem. The dress has darts at the bust and back shoulder and is a swing style, also with a deep hand-stitched hem. The fabric is pleated in places to reduce the fullness. Inside, the side-seams are machine sewn to the inside to reduce fraying. The sleeve seams are souble sewn. DIMENSIONS: L: 920mm, Bust: 1060..
